A working shelf, not a bibliography. These are the places I actually return to. It will grow.
Primary sources & libraries
- Christian Classics Ethereal Library (CCEL) — the Fathers, the Reformers, creeds, and confessions, free and full-text.
- New Advent — the Church Fathers, the Summa, and the 1913 Catholic Encyclopedia in one place.
- Documenta Catholica Omnia — a vast Latin/Greek patristic and magisterial archive.
- Post-Reformation Digital Library — scanned Reformation and post-Reformation dogmatics.
Creeds & confessions
- Creeds.net — ecumenical creeds and the major confessions side by side.
- The Book of Concord, the Westminster Standards, the Council of Trent, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church are each worth reading in full, not in excerpt.
Scripture & languages
- Blue Letter Bible — original-language tools, lexicons, and parallel translations.
- STEP Bible — free interlinear and morphology from Tyndale House.
Tools
- Zotero — reference management; keep your citations straight from the start.
Have something that belongs here? It gets added when it earns a place on the desk.
